ITHACA, N.Y.—Penn men’s track and field notched a fifth-place finish with 44 points in the Indoor Heptagonals Championships hosted by Cornell this weekend. Cornell won the meet by a considerable margin with 205 points. Tim Kaijala notched the Quakers’ lone individual win of the weekend, finishing first in the 1000 meter run and qualifying for IC4As with a time of 2:24.57. Kaijala also anchored the 4x800 meter relay squad that finished in first with an IC4A-qualifying time of 7:37.12. John Guzman ran the lead-off leg, while Kevin Kiley ran second and Bryan Scotland ran the third leg. Scotland also qualified for IC4As in the 800 meters, clocking in at 1:52.77 for third place. Penn came in second in the 4x400 meter relay and qualified for IC4As with a time of 3:17.68.
