Women's Track and Field Finishes Fifth at Heptagonals Indoor Championships - PennAthletics.com—The Official Website of University of Pennsylvania AthleticsPublished by
ITHACA, N.Y.–The Penn women’s track and field team sprinted,
leaped and went the distance this weekend to finish fifth in the Heptagonals
Indoor Championships, hosted by Cornell. Penn racked up 45 points on the weekend. Princeton took home the Heptagonals title after finishing in
first place for the first time since 1998, with 114 points. Shaunee Morgan recorded the Quakers’ first win of the
weekend, crossing the line first in the 200 meters with an ECAC-qualifying time
of 24.57. Jesse Carlin snagged Penn’s second win of the weekend, finishing
first in the 800 meters and provisionally qualifying for NCAAs with a time of 2:08.08. Carlin also anchored the 4x400 meters team that finished in
second place, clocking in at 3:48.27
and qualifying for ECACs. Jamie Massarelli ran the lead-off leg while Morgan
